Arbli™ is the first and only FDA-approved liquid losartan designed specifically for people age 6 and older who require liquid medication.
Arbli™ is a prescription medicine called an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It is used:
- alone or with other blood pressure medicines to lower high blood pressure (hypertension).
- to lower the chance of stroke in patients with high blood pressure and a heart problem called left ventricular hypertrophy. Arbli™ may not help Black patients with this problem.
- to slow the worsening of diabetic kidney disease (nephropathy) in patients with type 2 diabetes who have or had high blood pressure.

How to Use Arbli™
Easy-to-swallow Arbli™ is a translucent, peppermint-flavored oral suspension that contains 10 mg of losartan potassium per mL. It is supplied as 165 mL in a white, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bottle with a child-resistant cap and tamper-evident seal.
Preparation: Shake the bottle for 20 seconds prior to each use. Arbli™ can be stored at room temperature for up to 60 days after opening. Keep container tightly closed and protect from light.
Measuring device: Use an oral dosing syringe or an oral dosing cup to measure the prescribed amount of Arbli™. Dosing syringes and cups are available at your local pharmacy.
Storage: No refrigeration is required. Store Arbli™ at 68°F to 77°F in the original container. Once the bottle is opened, use it within 60 days. Shake well before each use.
Keep Arbli™ and all medicines out of the reach of children.
Guidelines for Safe Use
Pregnancy:
Arbli™ can cause harm or death to an unborn baby. Talk to your doctor about other ways to lower blood pressure if you plan to become pregnant. If you get pregnant while taking Arbli™, tell your doctor right away. You should also discuss if you are breastfeeding. It is not known if Arbli™ passes into breast milk. You should choose either to take Arbli™ or to breastfeed, but not both. Tell your doctor about all medical conditions including if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, are vomiting a lot or having diarrhea, have liver problems, or have kidney problems.
Side Effects:
Arbli™ may cause side effects that may be serious including injury or death of unborn babies, allergic reaction, high blood levels of potassium, and low blood pressure (hypotension). For people who already have kidney problems, you may see a worsening in how well your kidneys work. Call your doctor if you get swelling in your feet, ankles, or hands, or unexplained weight gain. The most common side effects of Arbli™ are dizziness, “colds” (upper respiratory infection), stuffy nose, and back pain.
Potassium Supplements:
Arbli™ and certain other medicines may interact with each other. Especially tell your doctor if you are taking potassium supplements, salt substitutes containing potassium, other medicines that may increase serum potassium; lithium (a medicine used to treat a certain kind of depression); medicines used to treat pain and arthritis, called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including COX-2 inhibitors; water pills (diuretics); or other medicines to reduce blood pressure.
